Classroom Troubleshooting for students 

Here's how to fix problems you might have using Classroom.

When I signed into Google classroom for the first time I signed in as a teacher but I’m a student.
Contact your teacher and have them contact the systems administrator to change your account to student. 

I can't sign into Classroom
You might be trying to sign in to Classroom with the wrong account. Check that you’re using the email account connected to Classroom. You sign in to Classroom with this account:

PS214K School accounts—Also known as a Google Workspace account, this account is set up by your school. It looks like your-name@ps214k.org

Note: You must have an active Internet connection to sign in.

If you can’t sign in with the correct email account and password, Ask your teacher to verify your account details. Your school’s systems administrator automatically activates the Classrooms you need to be in, and you should see them on your classroom main page if you don't you may not be signed in properly. Ask your teacher for help.  

I forgot my password
We use Google Workspace for Education — Ask your teacher to contact the systems administrator to reset your password.

How do I switch between user accounts?
You should only be signed in with your PS214K account to avoid problems but If you need to sign in with a different user account, go to Switch between accounts or view how to Separate personal and school accounts to learn how. 

How do I sign out?

You don't need to sign out, but if you do please note when you sign out of your account, you sign out from all Google Workspace products on your device.

My class code doesn't work

At PS214K we do not use class codes, you are assigned classes and need only to join your class either from the email invite or from your main classroom page which you can find by opening the classroom app or going to classroom.google.com, if you do not see your assigned class ask your teacher to contact the school’s systems admin.

I deleted my class email invitation
If you lose your class invitation before you joined your class, just main go to the  classroom page which you can find by opening the classroom app or going to classroom.google.com, and you will see your classroom and be able to join.
If you do not see your assigned class ask your teacher to contact the systems administrator.  

Note: You only use the class invitation once to enroll. 

I unenrolled from a class and want to re-enroll
If you accidentally unenrolled from a class, ask your teacher to contact the school’s admin to place you back in the the class.

I can't post a comment
Your teacher turned off posting for that class. Ask your teacher for more information.

How do I undelete a post?
You can’t undelete a post. However, your teacher can see all your deleted posts.

I can't send or receive email
You may not be signed in correctly, if you are signed in correctly and still have problems ask your teacher to contact the systems administrator.

The Turn in button doesn’t work
If you get an error message when you click Turn in, let your teacher know.
If you can’t turn in an attachment assigned to you, try these steps:

1. To save any work you did in the attachment, copy and paste your work into a blank document.

2. In the Classroom assignment, on the attachment, click Remove Make a copy.

3. Click the new attachment.

4. Paste any saved work into the new file.

5. Click Turn in.

I didn’t get an attachment from my teacher
If you didn't get an attachment your teacher assigned, let your teacher know.

How do I change the language in Classroom?
You change the preferred language for your Google Account. For details, see Change language to change the language on computer and mobile devices.
